Land rover defender 200tdi. First registered on 1/4/1992. Currently with 161k miles.
Does not have an MOT, buyer will need to arrange for transport.
This is my project car, originally used as daily transport I took it it off of the road to do some restoration in 2015 however I now need to sell it due to a house move.
Has been modified for off-road use by previous owner with much of the original equipment retained, to include:
Roll cage
24 spline diffs (front refurbished, see below)
Vacuum operated rear diff locker (working at last test)
Front winch (not tested)
Additional lights etc.
rear backwards facing seats
24v / split charging system (currently not connected).
½ length roofrack
Centre cubby box
Central console in dashboard (needs tidying)
2” lift
Rocksliders / metal cils
So far It’s had:
New timing belt (23/4/12) @ 150k miles
Front & rear props / uj’s @ 150k miles
New exhaust (7/3/13) @ 152k miles
front diff rebuild (2013) @ 153k miles
4 new tyres: 235/85R16 General Grabber AT’s (20/6/14) @ 157k miles
new fuel distribution pump and calibration (7/8/14) @ 158k miles.
Works required:
Possible welding to chassis at rear x-member
Power steering belt squeaks under load
Tidy up of internal electrics – this is partially complete but needs a stereo etc.
Tidy up of paintwork etc – it’s 26+ years old!
No MOT – it will need to be transported by buyer
Original handbook, loads of receipts, Runs well, starts first time, no nasty smoke and in working order. Would make a great starting point for a project.
